Robert Anthony De Niro, Jr., born August 17, 1943 in New York City, is an accomplished actor, director and producer. Both of his parents were artists and De Niro was raised by his mother after she divorced his father (Robert De Niro, Sr.) when De Niro, Jr. was just three years old. De Niro dropped out of school at the age of 16 and studied acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory and the American Workshop. In 1976, he married Diahnne Abbot; the pair had two children together before their divorce in 1988. He was in a long term relationship with fashion model Toukie Smith and although the pair never married, Smith gave birth to twin sons, Andrew Kendrick and Julian Henry in 1995. De Niro’s current wife is Grace Hightower, whom he married in 1998, and they have two children together.
