Actor Jamie Foxx was born Eric Marlon Bishop on December 13, 1967, in Terrell, Texas. Foxx was adopted by his mother’s adoptive parents and had little contact with his birth parents growing up. He had a strict Baptist upbringing and played piano and was the choir leader at his church. He was interested in many thing growing up, including music, comedy and sports. He played basketball and was quarterback of his high school team, where he became the first player in the school’s history to pass for more than 1,000 yards. He studied classical music and composition at United States International University. He credits his grandmother for all of his successes. He is not married, but has two daughters, Corinne and Annalise.
