If you’re looking for a laser that can cut metal, you probably want to look further than the Glowforge. I’ve had it for about a month now and honestly I have some buyers remorse. There are more limitations than I was expecting and even cutting through 1/4 plywood has proven to be a challenge.

The software is overly simplified and you have to reload each file every time you want to repeat a cut. Also, the lines on the camera don’t match up to actual cut lines.

So to answer this question directly, no I don’t think the Glowforge can cut metal or works on metal. It has a hard time with wood.
