PT 2: DJI Mavic Pro Drone Ocusync Distance & Range Test 4.3 Miles Hands On Video Review + Giveaway!

Transcript: Hey, what’s up guys? So yesterday I posted a video, basically demonstrating from my current location, surrounded by trees and downhill, how far the Mavic Pro will fly away from my controller, or me. Now, I got a lot of feedback that I had done something incorrectly, and you guys were perfectly right, and I will say that that’s my mistake, I should have taken the time to set the controller up correctly. So, when the antennas on the Mavic Pro controller are folded, they’re like this. When you unfold ’em, they go like that. Great design, right? But they also go like that, and I forgot to do that part. So with that said, I did another test today. Boosting the signal outward, the way it’s supposed to be, and I will say before I even show you that test, that I also own the Phantom three Professional and the Phantom four, and I already knew that, even though I didn’t put it into action because I was in a rush, that the antenna should be pushing out that way. I even, with my Phantom three, bought like metal things to go behind it from Amazon to try to boost the signal outward, so, the location I’m in, again, is kind of the worst case scenario, and that’s why the drone didn’t fly as far as it says it’s going to. Not just because of the drone itself. So, I’m sure, again, that in an open field, it can fly 4.3 miles, or in an open area. This is the opposite of that, I’m surrounded by trees and I’m down in a hole, basically. So anyways, I flew another one today, as you’ll see, it did not fly any further, even though the antennas were set up correctly and that again is because of the conditions, but I did this test so that you guys could see in a real world scenario, if you live in my area or a similar area, and you’re flying the drone from a home or just somewhere where you’re gonna have trees and interference, about how far it can fly. Now, one thing I wanna say, again, is that I think this is actually a great result, and I was really really happy with the fact that it went almost 4000 feet, actually, if you look back at the footage away, before I had to turn around, because, my Phantom three and Phantom four won’t go near that far from the exact same location. So what that says, is that the Ocusync, the new technology they’re using on the Mavic Pro controller, and the Mavic Pro to connect the two, is awesome, it’s better than what they use on the Phantom three and Phantom four. Okay, so we’re gonna be keeping our eye on this one metric right here, which is distance. So we’re gonna figure out how far away can it go. DJI says, with no obstacles or anything, about 22,000 feet, which is insane, but let’s just see how far I can get it to go. Alright guys, so if you haven’t already, make sure to check out my full unboxing, and my initial review on the Mavic Pro. I’ll put that link below, and make sure to subscribe to my channel to automatically enter our current two giveaways. One is the Tile giveaway, so the Tile GPS tracker, and also, I’m giving away a streaming stick, so it’s the Roku streaming stick, Amazon Fire stick, or an Amazon.com giftcard is an option in either one of those giveaways. So, let me know what you think about the distance that I just flew below, and what your experience maybe is, and how far you’ve gotten it to go. And make sure to subscribe.
