Kate Gosselin was born Katie Irene Kreider to parents Charlene and Kenton Kreider on March 28, 1975 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She completed a diploma program at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, becoming a registered nurse and working as a labor and delivery nurse.
She married Jon Gosselin in 1999 and remained married to him for 10 years until their divorce in 2009. The two had twin daughters (Cara and Madelyn) in 2005 through fertility treatments, and later had sextuplets (Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel) through the same method due to Kate unable to conceive due to polycystic ovary syndrome.
Kate Gosselin is known as a reality star who first appeared on TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” for a show that took an inside look at Gosselin’s life with her husband as they raised their twins and sextuplets. The show began in 2007 and ran for five seasons until the couple announced their divorce in 2009. The family took a hiatus as TLC revamped the show and renamed it “Kate Plus 8” for a continued reality series of Gosselin raising her eight children as a new divorcee living in Berks County, PA. Gosselin earned a reported $250,000 per episode.
Besides working as a reality television star, Kate Gosselin has written three books and also briefly worked as a blogger for CouponCabin.com. In 2008, “Multiple Blessings” was co-written with her ex-husand and sold over 500,000, making it onto the New York Time’s Best Seller list. She then went on to release “Eight Little Faces” in 2009, again making the New York Time’s Best Seller’s list, as “I Just Want You To Know” came out in 2010.
