Kandi Burruss is a singer-songwriter, actress, record producer and TV personality. She was born on May 17, 1976 in Atlanta, Georgia. She specializes in the R&B, dance and soul musical genres. Burruss was a member of Xscape, a R&B quartet that initially disbanded in 1999.

Burruss was a co-writer of the international number one hit “No Scrubs” for R&B group TLC. She also penned hit songs for Destiny’s Child, which include “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Bug a Boo”. Burruss wrote for a host of artists including Pink, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Da Brat, Usher, Joe, Whitney Houston, Boyz II Men and Mya. She is also known for her role on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”. Burruss is currently working on a spin-off reality show, “The Kandi Factory”. In January 2013, Kandi announced that she was engaged to Todd Tucker. She has a daughter, Riley, from a prior relationship with Russell Spencer of Block Entertainment.
