American hip-hop artist Joseph Guillermo Jones II, better recognized as Jim Jones, was born in The Bronx to Nancy and Joseph Guillermo Jones I on July 15, 1976. The recording artist has been engaged to Chrissy Lampkin since 2011. Jones has a son named Joseph Guillermo Jones III, also known as “Pudy,” who was born in May of 2003.
Jones is one of the founding members of The Diplomats, a group that Jones started in 1997 with fellow hip-hop artists Cam’ron and Freekey Zekey. Working under his nickname “Capo,” Jones has also earned a reputation as a prominent video director, lending his services to a host of artists including State Property and renowned rapper Remy Ma. Jones released his first solo album, “On My Way to Church” in 2004, and a pair of tracks from the debut album made the Billboard Hot R&Band Hip-Hop chart – “Certified Gangstas” and “Crunk Muzik.” The following year Jones released “Harlem: Diary of a Summer,” which climbed to the #5 spot on the Billboard 200.
