Gangster rapper and pop culture icon, Ice-T was born on February 16, 1958 in Newark New Jersey. Born as, Tracy Lauren Marrow, this rap giant later embraced his stage name as he grew to fame as both a rapper and actor. His father was a blue-collar worker and his mother died of a heart attack when he was in the third grade.
During his first marriage, Ice-T and his wife Darlene Ortiz had two children. From this union came son Tracy Marrow Jr. and his daughter, Letesha.
He married his second wife, actress/dancer/model Coco Austin in 2005. In May of 2015 the couple announced to the world during an interview on Life & Style that they’re trying to have a baby.
Starting out in the 1980s as a rapper signed to Sire Records, it wouldn’t be until a decade later that Ice-T would become one of the most recognized names in the business. His 1991 release of the album O.G.: Original Gangster is still considered his best album and peaked at #9 on Billboard magazine’s top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
